
Though both signing days for the class of 2025 have since passed, the Florida Gators still had one target left on the board this spring in Miami (Fla.) Northwestern four-star cornerback J’Vari Flowers. He reclassified from the 2026 class to the 2025 class back in late January, and announced that he would be taking his official visits in the month of March before settling on where he would commit.
The Gators hosted Flowers on campus back on March 10, which was a visit that had some staying power. After finishing official visits to North Carolina, Auburn, Florida, Notre Dame, and Miami, he had seen enough, and picked the Gators during a scheduled commitment ceremony on Monday evening. The Gators had been a constant mentioned in Flower’s recruitment in the last few weeks, but as the decision neared, the Fighting Irish were considered the biggest threat to UF.
The Gators are dealing with some holdover injuries in their defensive backfield from this past season during spring ball, so the need for some more help in the secondary was something that became clear to the staff. Flowers saw how the Gators improved as the season went on in 2024, and also had a prior relationship with new assistant coach
