Unfortunately, this is not the news that Kirby Smart and the Georgia football team were hoping would come. However, the Bulldogs, who had been looking to make a splash on the recruiting trail, have seen a 4-star commit flip to the Miami Hurricanes.
That’s right, on Saturday evening, cornerback Jontavius Wyman has backed off his pledge to Georgia and decided that he’ll be Miami-bound instead. On3’s Steve Wiltfong broke the news. As you might have been able to guess, plenty of UGA fans are pretty disappointed in the news, but him decommitting from Georgia is something some people saw coming:
4-star CB Jontavius Wyman has flipped from Georgia to Miami
It seemed like it was only a matter of time until Wyman decided he wanted to play his college ball elsewhere. Prior to Saturday’s flip, he had scheduled additional official visits to Arizona State, Nebraska and Miami – he was also set to visit Georgia.
It’s completely unknown if he’ll only take his OV to Miami or continue with his trips to additional programs. His official visit to Miami is scheduled for May 30. As for the Bulldogs, Smart and his staff are back down to five pledges for the ’26 haul.
