The New York Giants have been at the center of discussions regarding free agent quarterback and future Hall of Famer Aaron Rodgers. While Rodgers has been a highly coveted target for the team, there’s a chance the Giants may be ready to move on from waiting for his decision. New York currently holds the No. 3 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, and they’ve been linked to selecting a quarterback with that pick as well.
A new update on the Giants’ quarterback plans in free agency has surfaced. NFL insider Dianna Russini from The Athletic shared some insight on “The Dan Patrick Show,” revealing that the Giants are exploring options beyond Rodgers. When asked by Patrick, “What are the Giants doing?” Russini mentioned two other quarterbacks the team could consider: Russell Wilson and Joe Flacco.
Shedeur Sanders has also been rumored as a potential target for the Giants with their No. 3 pick. Bringing in either Flacco or Wilson as a bridge quarterback could be a logical move. Flacco, who played for the Indianapolis Colts in 2024, saw significant action, completing 65.3% of his passes for 1,761 yards, 12 touchdowns, and seven interceptions in eight games. Meanwhile, Wilson, who spent 2024 with the Pittsburgh Steelers, threw for 2,482 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions while completing 63.7% of his passes in 11 games.
