Huge Boost:5-Star RB returns to Alabama in a Bridged Deal
Ezavier Crowell, one of the top running back prospects in the 2026 recruiting class, has returned to Tuscaloosa for a multiple-day visit with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Crowell, who plays for Jackson High School in Alabama, is one of the most sought-after ball carriers in the nation. Originally a member of the 2027 class, he recently reclassified to 2026, accelerating his recruitment timeline and making him a priority target for several powerhouse programs.
Alabama has been heavily involved in Crowell’s recruitment, and this visit marks the seventh time he has been in Tuscaloosa since head coach Kalen DeBoer took over. His strong relationship with the new staff is a major factor in his interest in the Crimson Tide, and Alabama continues to make a strong push to land him. Crowell has spoken highly of his experiences in Tuscaloosa, praising the program’s winning culture, player development, and the opportunity to be part of a legacy of great running backs.
Crowell is currently considering six schools: Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia, Ohio State, and Texas. Each of these programs has made him a priority, and he has scheduled multiple visits over the next few months to evaluate his options. His official visit schedule is already filling up, with confirmed trips to Texas on June 6, Auburn on June 13, Florida State on June 15, and Alabama on June 20-22. These visits will be crucial in helping him make his final decision.
The 5-star running back has been a dominant force on the field, showcasing an elite combination of speed, power, and vision. In the 2024 season, Crowell put up incredible numbers, rushing for 1,964 yards and 31 touchdowns on just 168 carries—an astonishing average of over 11.7 yards per carry. He also contributed in the passing game, adding 258 receiving yards and two receiving touchdowns. His ability to make explosive plays and break tackles has drawn comparisons to some of the best running backs to come out of the state of Alabama.
Each of the schools in Crowell’s top six has a compelling case to land him. Alabama, known for producing elite running backs like Derrick Henry, Najee Harris, and Mark Ingram, offers a proven track record of player development and national championship contention. Auburn, an in-state rival, is pushing hard to keep Crowell within state lines, selling him on the chance to be the face of their offense. Florida State has been gaining momentum in recruiting under head coach Mike Norvell and offers a dynamic offensive scheme. Georgia has been a powerhouse in recent years and consistently develops elite running backs. Ohio State, with its strong national brand, has also been in the mix, while Texas is making a strong push under Steve Sarkisian, who has a history of maximizing running back talent.
With his recruitment heating up, Crowell remains focused on making the right decision for his future. He has not set a commitment date yet, but his upcoming visits will play a major role in determining where he will play at the next level. Alabama remains one of the favorites in this race, but with several powerhouse programs in pursuit, this recruitment battle is far from over.
