The Georgia Bulldogs have taken a major step forward in their pursuit of one of the top quarterback prospects in the 2026 recruiting class. For months, Georgia has been heavily focused on landing Jared Curtis, the No. 1 quarterback in the class from Nashville, Tennessee. The Bulldogs are locked in a battle with the Oregon Ducks for Curtis’ commitment, and he has remained a top priority for Georgia’s coaching staff. However, Georgia has also been putting considerable effort into recruiting Bowe Bentley, another highly sought-after quarterback from Celina, Texas. Bentley is currently ranked as the No. 5 quarterback in the class according to On3’s rankings and is listed at No. 9 in the industry composite rankings.
On Sunday, Georgia’s chances of securing Bentley’s commitment improved significantly after he narrowed his list of potential schools down to just three programs, with the Bulldogs making the cut. According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Bentley has scheduled an official visit to Athens, which will take place from June 6-8. His other two finalists are the Oklahoma Sooners and the LSU Tigers, two fellow SEC powerhouses. Bentley has lined up official visits to both schools, heading to Norman, Oklahoma, from June 13-15 before concluding his round of visits with a trip to Baton Rouge to see LSU from June 20-22.
Prior to this announcement, Oklahoma was considered the favorite to land Bentley, with On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine giving the Sooners a 39% chance of securing his commitment. Florida State was next in line with an 18% chance, followed by Georgia at 15%. The Sooners have had an advantage due to their proximity to Bentley’s hometown of Celina, which is located just north of Dallas, making Norman a convenient destination for the talented quarterback. This geographic factor has played a role in Oklahoma’s standing as the frontrunner, but Georgia’s inclusion in Bentley’s final three signals that the Bulldogs are making a serious push to land him.
The Defensive Roster Requirements For Kentucky In The 2026 Recruiting Class
With Bentley’s official visit to Athens locked in for early June, Georgia now has a critical opportunity to make a lasting impression. The Bulldogs’ history of producing elite quarterbacks and competing for national championships could be a major selling point for Bentley as he weighs his options. Additionally, Georgia’s ability to develop NFL-caliber talent at the position could be an appealing factor as Bentley considers where he wants to continue his football career.
While Oklahoma may still hold a slight edge due to its location, Georgia has made significant progress in this recruitment battle. If the Bulldogs can impress Bentley during his visit and make a strong pitch for their offensive system and long-term vision, their chances of securing his commitment could rise dramatically. With both Bentley and Curtis in their sights, Georgia is positioning itself to land one of the top quarterbacks in the 2026 class, further strengthening its future at the position.
