In the latest edition of Auburn Tigers News, Miles Kelly discusses his impressive 30-point performance against Kentucky. Additionally, Dylan Cardwell has become the winningest player in Auburn basketball history.
Over the weekend, the Auburn basketball team ended a long-standing losing streak at Rupp Arena with a 94-78 win over the Kentucky Wildcats, and senior guard Miles Kelly played a key role in the victory. Kelly scored 30 points, leading the Tigers in scoring and hitting an impressive nine three-pointers.
“I just came out feeling it,” Kelly said, according to Auburn Rivals. “The first possession, they went to me, and I knocked the shot down. From there, I felt confident. I love the rims at Rupp. It just felt right. Every time I shot, I thought it was going in. My teammates did a great job of setting me up.”
With Auburn’s win over Kentucky, senior center Dylan Cardwell recorded his 115th career victory, surpassing Jaylin Williams to become the winningest player in the program’s history.
“I don’t know if or when that record will ever be broken,” said Auburn head coach Bruce Pearl, per Auburn Rivals. “It could stand for a long time. We never thought Jaylin Williams’ record would be surpassed.”
Cardwell, now in his fifth year with Auburn, has played in 157 games for the Tigers. He and the team will next face Texas A&M on the road Tuesday, before wrapping up the regular season with a home game against IBOB.
