The Oklahoma Sooners have significantly bolstered their offense with the additions of some top-tier recruits in the 2025 class. While offensive tackles Michael Fasusi and Ryan Fodje grabbed much of the attention, there’s another standout player from Texas who could end up being the most impactful of them all.
Four-star running back Tory Blaylock, who was also recognized alongside Fasusi on The Sporting News Texas All-State first team following his stellar 2024 season, made a huge impression this past year. Blaylock, who played for Atascocita, accumulated an impressive 1,262 rushing yards and 26 touchdowns, propelling his team to the regional finals. Beyond his rushing prowess, Blaylock also showcased his skills as a pass-catcher, averaging 13.8 yards per reception with 22 catches and three touchdowns.
Blaylock is not just known for his speed, as he was also part of Atascocita’s record-setting 4×100 team last spring. This week, he joined the Sooners as an early enrollee, and while his speed is undoubtedly a key asset, it’s his ability to fight through tackles and maintain balance in the middle of the field that stands out. He has a unique ability to break away from defenders and gain extra yards after contact, which adds another dimension to his game.
Although the Sooners’ running back room is already stacked, with everyone from the 2024 team expected to return, Blaylock’s big-play potential gives him a strong chance to climb the depth chart quickly. His versatility and explosiveness make him a player to watch, even in a competitive backfield.
Fasusi, meanwhile, comes to Oklahoma after choosing the Sooners over both Texas and Texas A&M, despite strong efforts from the two Texas schools to sway him. He remained steadfast in his commitment to Oklahoma and its offensive line coach, Bill Bedenbaugh. Fasusi, along with Fodje, adds a significant boost to Oklahoma’s offensive line for the future. Both players are ranked among the top 10 offensive tackle prospects in the 2025 class, and Fasusi’s decision to commit to OU ahead of other offers has proven to be a major win for the Sooners.
Fodje’s recruitment also gained significant momentum after he received his first offer from Bedenbaugh and the Sooners, ultimately leading him to commit. After joining Oklahoma, Fodje’s rating was upgraded from three to four stars, solidifying his status as one of the top offensive linemen in the 2025 class. Like Fasusi, Fodje brings immense talent and will have a chance to make an immediate impact on Oklahoma’s offensive line, further strengthening the Sooners’ future prospects.
With Blaylock, Fasusi, and Fodje joining the program, Oklahoma is positioning itself to make significant strides on offense in the coming years, with these recruits being integral to the team’s success.
