Ohio State’s five-star wide receiver commitment, Chris Henry Jr., has scheduled an official visit with the Oregon Ducks. He will also visit Miami, USC, and Ohio State officially. Can Oregon’s head coach, Dan Lanning, convince this elite recruit to change his commitment?
According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, Henry Jr., a Mater Dei (Santa Ana, CA) standout, will visit Oregon from June 13-15. His other scheduled visits include Miami (May 30-June 1), USC (June 6-8), and Ohio State (June 20-22).
Henry Jr. initially committed to Ohio State in July 2023 but received offers from top programs such as Texas, Michigan, Georgia, Alabama, and others. His father, Chris Henry Sr., played wide receiver for West Virginia before being drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals.
Henry Jr. was at Oregon’s Autzen Stadium in November when the Ducks defeated Maryland 39-18, and he was impressed with the electric atmosphere. He’s built strong relationships with the coaching staff, particularly former wide receivers coach Junior Adams, who has since moved to the Dallas Cowboys. Oregon has hired Ross Douglas from Syracuse to take over as the new wide receivers coach.
Having already visited USC, Ohio State, and Penn State unofficially, Henry Jr. is also considering Alabama and Clemson for camps. His NFL pedigree has generated significant buzz, and experts like Greg Biggins believe he is one of the top prospects for the 2026 class, comparable to the hype around Jeremiah Smith in the 2024 class.
