Shock to Bears Fans: Braxton Jones OUT for Monday Night Showdown Against Vikings..

Bears left tackle Braxton Jones has been officially ruled out for the upcoming Monday night matchup against the Minnesota Vikings and will not travel with the team. His absence will require adjustments to the offensive line, potentially affecting the team’s protection schemes and overall offensive strategy as they face the Vikings.

Jones, who was selected in the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Southern Utah, has been a key player on the Bears’ offensive line. Over the course of his three seasons with the team, he has started all 39 games in which he has played, showcasing his durability and consistency. This includes starting 11 games this season, where he has been a pivotal part of the line protecting the quarterback and aiding the running game.

Earlier this season, Jones was forced to miss two consecutive games in November due to a knee injury that kept him out for the Bears’ contests against the Arizona Cardinals and New England Patriots. During those games, offensive tackle Larry Borom filled in for Jones, stepping up to help maintain the integrity of the Bears’ offensive line. Despite those setbacks, Jones has proven to be a reliable starter when healthy, but his concussion will keep him sidelined for the Vikings game.

In other notable news on Saturday, the Chicago Bears made a roster move by elevating running back Darrynton Evans from their practice squad to the active roster. This decision comes in response to the growing injury concerns within the running back position. With key players sidelined, the Bears are looking to strengthen their depth in the backfield as they prepare for the Monday night game against the Minnesota Vikings.

D’Andre Swift, one of the team’s primary running backs, is currently dealing with a groin injury, and as a result, he has been listed as questionable for the upcoming matchup. His status remains uncertain, and the Bears are likely monitoring his recovery closely to determine if he will be able to play. Swift’s potential absence would be a significant blow to the Bears’ rushing attack, as he has been an important contributor in both the ground game and as a receiving option out of the backfield.

Additionally, Roschon Johnson, another key running back, has been ruled out for the Vikings game due to a concussion. Johnson’s absence further depletes the Bears’ running back corps, making Evans’ promotion from the practice squad even more crucial. Evans will now have an opportunity to contribute to the team’s running back rotation, adding valuable depth as the Bears face a tough matchup on Monday night.
