Devin Booker and Tyus Jones Lead Suns to Victory Over Warriors
Devin Booker and Tyus Jones stole the spotlight on Saturday night, combining for 46 points and 18 assists to guide the Phoenix Suns to a 113-105 win over the Golden State Warriors. Despite a challenging shooting performance from Kevin Durant, who finished 7-for-20 with 21 points and 10 rebounds, Phoenix secured their second win in the last eight games.
Stephen Curry also struggled with his shooting, hitting only 8 of 21 attempts and making just 3 of 10 from beyond the arc, finishing with 23 points. The Warriors are now on a four-game losing streak.
The Suns dominated early, building a strong 66-49 lead at halftime, fueled by Grayson Allen’s 13 points, Booker’s 12, and Jones’ 11. Phoenix shot 14-for-21 from three-point range in the first half, showcasing their offensive efficiency.
Golden State tried to rally, narrowing the deficit to 85-78 at the end of the third quarter. However, they failed to score for the remainder of the period and struggled in the early minutes of the fourth, falling behind 103-86.
Though the Warriors mounted a late comeback with a 13-3 run, closing the gap to 108-103 with 1:11 remaining, Booker sealed the game with four consecutive free throws. He finished the game perfect from the line (8-for-8) and ensured Phoenix held onto their lead.
Booker finished with 27 points, Jones added 19 points and nine assists, shooting an impressive 7-for-9 from the field and 4-for-5 from three-point range. Allen chipped in 17 points, while Royce O’Neale contributed 11. Despite only hitting four three-pointers in the second half, the Suns still made 18 of 35 overall.
For Golden State, Andrew Wiggins scored 18 points, Draymond Green contributed 13 points and seven assists, and Jonathan Kuminga and Brandin Podziemski each added 12 points. Curry and Podziemski each grabbed seven rebounds in the loss.
