The Chicago Bears have fired head coach Matt Eberflus after a disastrous Thanksgiving Day loss to the Detroit Lions. Eberflus, who had a 14-32 record in two-plus years, is the first head coach in Bears history to be fired mid-season. Offensive coordinator Thomas Brown will take over as interim head coach.
The decision to fire Eberflus came after a series of questionable coaching decisions, including a bizarre sequence of events in the final minute of the Lions game that sealed the Bears’ sixth consecutive loss.
