The Texas Rangers have finalized their 2025 coaching staff, which will support third-year manager Bruce Bochy. The newly announced staff features four members, including three fresh faces: bench coach Luis Urueta, assistant pitching coach Dave Bush, and bullpen coach Jordan Tiegs. They are joined by assistant hitting coach Justin Viele, who was added back on November 4.
Dave Bush, who previously served as the Rangers’ director of pitching strategy during the 2024 season and stepped in as interim pitching coach for several games while Mike Maddux was unavailable, brings a wealth of experience. At 45, Bush has a notable history, having served as the Boston Red Sox pitching coach from 2020 to 2023, following roles such as Boston’s pitching development analyst and minor league pitching coordinator. He played nine seasons in the MLB with Toronto, Milwaukee, and Texas.
Luis Urueta comes to the Rangers after two seasons as the bench coach for the Miami Marlins, working under former Marlins manager Skip Schumaker, who recently joined the Rangers as a senior advisor. Urueta has an extensive background, spending 16 years with the Arizona Diamondbacks organization and playing five seasons in the minors, as well as four years in the Italian Baseball League.
Jordan Tiegs, who joined the Rangers in 2019, has been serving as the organization’s pitching coordinator since 2022. He has also worked as a pitching coach for various minor league affiliates and holds collegiate coaching experience at both the University of Indianapolis and Indiana State.

Justin Viele previously spent five seasons as the hitting coach for the San Francisco Giants and has experience with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization. He is known for collaborating with the Rangers’ offensive coordinator while they were on the Giants’ staff in 2021.
The 2025 coaching staff will also include seven returning members, such as third base coach Tony Beasley, entering his 11th season, and pitching coach Mike Maddux. Other returnees include first base coach Corey Ragsdale, catching coach Bobby Wilson, assistant hitting coach Seth Conner, and quality control coach Brett Hayes.
Notably, former Rangers hitting coach Tim Hyers joined the Atlanta Braves on October 28, and former associate manager Will Venable was named the manager of the Chicago White Sox on October 31.
