Darius Robinson was back on the practice field Monday—at long last.
The rookie defensive lineman, who has been sidelined with a calf injury since the end of the preseason, returned to practice with his teammates during the Cardinals’ “bonus” session following their bye week. His status for the upcoming game remains uncertain, as the team won’t release its first official injury report until Wednesday.
Head coach Jonathan Gannon refrained from commenting on whether Robinson could make his season debut in Seattle on Sunday.
“It’ll be good to get him out there,” Gannon said. “It’s been a long road for him with a tough injury. He’s been working hard and wants to get back on the field.”
Gannon noted that Robinson had a “good week” during the bye, even though it didn’t involve practice. Instead, Robinson focused on rehab. “He didn’t take an off week,” Gannon added.
Although Robinson has been on the active roster, he has not played in a game yet. He briefly returned to practice on October 9, but that session was limited to stretching. He was activated from Injured Reserve on October 28 after suffering the injury on August 22.
