The Cleveland Cavaliers extended their impressive season-opening winning streak with a 114-106 victory over the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday. Coming into the game with a 12-0 record, the Cavs are now only the eighth team in NBA history to achieve such a start.
Darius Garland led Cleveland’s scoring with 25 points, adding five rebounds and five assists. Donovan Mitchell was close behind with 23 points, almost reaching his first career triple-double with 13 rebounds and nine assists.
Despite missing key players like Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey, and Paul George, the 76ers stayed competitive, thanks largely to rookie Jared McCain, who contributed 34 points and 10 assists. However, Cleveland turned up the intensity in the third quarter, pulling ahead by outscoring Philadelphia by 10 points.
In the final minutes, Mitchell took control, nailing two clutch three-pointers and a driving layup to seal the victory. The Cavs ended the night at 13-0, joining an even more exclusive group as only the sixth team in NBA history to begin a season with this many consecutivewins.
