We believe there may be additional individuals with concerns, and we want to ensure their well-being and reassure them that suitable support resources will be available.
Edmonton police have taken action following multiple allegations against Satish Poojari, a massage therapist accused of sexually assaulting clients at a south Edmonton clinic. The investigation, which started in August after a report of sexual assault by a registered massage therapist (RMT), has since expanded as three additional individuals came forward with similar allegations, all linked to Poojari.
The Certified Registered Massage Therapist Association (CRMTA) promptly revoked Poojari’s license in light of these accusations. However, authorities have expressed concern that he may still be offering massage therapy services within Edmonton. Police are urging any other possible victims to come forward, reassuring them of support throughout the process.
Assistant Det. Candace Werestiuk of the Edmonton Police Service (EPS) Sexual Assault Section emphasized the importance of providing safety and support to anyone who may have been impacted. “If you have been victimized by Satish Poojari, we are hopeful that you will come forward and report it to police,” she stated. Authorities are committed to checking on the well-being of any additional complainants, ensuring they have access to the resources and support they need.
The EPS encourages any affected individuals to contact the police, stressing the community’s dedication to handling such sensitive cases with respect, confidentiality, and care. This case underscores the police force’s efforts to bring justice and support to all victims of sexual assault, fostering a safer environment within Edmonton’s therapeutic and wellness community.
