ATLANTA — Left-handed pitcher has agreed to a two-year contract worth $13 million with the Atlanta Braves, who also finalized an updated three-year deal with All-Star valued at $30 million, which guarantees him an extra $4 million.
Previously, Atlanta held a $7.25 million option on Bummer, along with a $1.25 million buyout, as part of a $16 million, five-year agreement he had with the Chicago White Sox. Under the new deal, he will earn $3.5 million in 2025 and $9.5 million in 2026.
Lopez initially signed a $30 million, three-year contract last November that included salaries of $4 million for 2024 and $11 million for the subsequent two years, along with an $8 million club option for 2027 that has a $4 million buyout. The revised terms include $8 million in 2025, $14 million in 2026, and $8 million in 2027.
Both players will contribute 1% of their salaries to the Atlanta Braves Foundation.
Additionally, the Braves have promoted right-hander Domingo Gonzalez from Triple-A Gwinnett.
