Lonzo Ball’s Potential Return for 2024-2025 Season..
Lonzo Ball, who hasn’t played since January 2022, is reportedly on track to be ready for the start of the 2024-2025 NBA season. Bulls VP of Basketball Operations, Arturas Karnisovas, stated that the goal is to have Ball available for opening night. After three knee surgeries and extensive time off, expectations for his return are cautious.
Since entering the league in 2017, Ball has only exceeded 60 games in a season once and has dealt with various injuries beyond his knees. Speculation about his future had grown, with doubts about whether he would play again.
While Karnisovas’ comments offer hope, Bulls fans should temper expectations. Ball has been somewhat replaced by younger players like Josh Giddey, and the team is relying on him less than during his last healthy season in 2022. If Ball can complete the season without further injuries, it would be considered a success.
Examples like Jonathan Isaac, who returned from a long injury absence and secured a significant contract, show that comebacks are possible. If Ball can move past his knee issues, he still has the potential to contribute as a valuable playmaker off the bench at just 26 years old.
