After Klay Thompson’s surprise exit this summer, the Golden State Warriors are on the hunt to keep their championship window open with Steph Curry. Rumors are swirling about the Warriors’ interest in Jimmy Butler as a potential replacement. Butler, who has a player option for the 2025-26 season, could hit free agency next summer if he opts out, fueling speculation about his future with the Miami Heat.
With no extension for Butler and Miami making no major moves this offseason, it’s unclear if the Heat are already looking to build around Bam Adebayo. A blockbuster four-team trade scenario has emerged, suggesting the Warriors could acquire Butler, while the Heat would get Trae Young, Harrison Barnes, Kevon Looney, and Jonathan Kuminga. The Atlanta Hawks would land Andrew Wiggins, Terry Rozier, and future draft picks, and the San Antonio Spurs would receive De’Andre Hunter, Nikola Jovic, and Pelle Larsson.
Though hypothetical, a trade of this scale could shake up the NBA landscape and reshape the Warriors’ path back to title contention.
