Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark pushed through a tough WNBA playoff debut, scoring 11 points and suffering a black eye in a 93-69 loss to the Connecticut Sun. Clark, the unanimous Rookie of the Year, struggled with her shooting but added 8 assists, 4 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Despite a physical run-in with DiJonai Carrington early in the game, Clark remains confident, saying, “We can win.” The Fever must win Game 2 to avoid elimination.
Alyssa Thomas led the Sun with a triple-double, and Marina Mabrey scored 27 points off the bench.
