Cary, N.C. – Texas Women’s Tennis saw freshmen Ariana Anazagasty-Pursoo and Carmen Herea advance from singles prequalifying at the ITA All-American Championships. Both won two matches to reach the qualifying rounds, joining junior Vivian Ovrootsky and freshman Aston Bowers.
Anazagasty-Pursoo defeated Amy Stevens (Vanderbilt) and Midori Castillo (Arizona) and will face No. 106 Berta Passola Folch (Cal) on Monday at 12:30 p.m. ET. Herea beat Alana Boyce (North Carolina) and Ozlem Uslu (Virginia Tech) and will play No. 66 Florentine Dekkers (LSU) at 11 a.m. ET.
Ovrootsky opens against No. 120 Amelia Bissett (Florida State) at 12 p.m. ET, while Bowers faces Eva Alvarez Sande (Washington State) at 10:30 a.m. ET. Anazagasty-Pursoo and Herea, as an alternate duo, will compete against No. 54 Valencia Xu/Valerie Glozman (Stanford) at 5 p.m. ET.
