Oklahoma made one adjustment to its depth chart ahead of its Week 3 nonconference matchup with Tula
NORMAN — Oklahoma will wrap up its early-season nonconference slate on Saturday before turning its attention toward SEC play.
No. 15 Oklahoma (2-0) will host Tulane (1-1) at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, with the game airing on ESPN, as Brent Venables and his team try to remain undefeated and make improvements offensively after a less-than-spectacular showing through the first two weeks of the season. The Sooners have sputtered offensively through two games, as injuries have mounted along the offensive line and at wide receiver.
While the status of several of those players — including wide receiver Nic Anderson, center Branson Hickman and right tackle Jake Taylor — remains uncertain entering Saturday’s matchup with the Green Wave, the Sooners on Friday afternoon released their official depth chart for Week 3. The depth chart remained largely unchanged from last week’s edition, with the one notable difference coming at right guard following Geirean Hatchett’s season-ending bicep injury.
Freshman Eddy Pierre-Louis, who is also listed alongside Heath Ozaeta as the backup at left guard, is now listed as the backup to Febechi Nwaiwu at right guard. Pierre-Louis, a former four-star prospect, played nine snaps right guard in the season opener but did not see the field in Week 2. Venables said earlier this week that the Sooners hope to get the 6-foot-3, 304-pounder into the mix along the offensive line as the season progresses.

The other thing to note about Oklahoma’s official Week 3 depth chart is that, despite being sidelined six to eight weeks due to surgery on a broken left foot, wide receiver Jalil Farooq is still listed as one of the Sooners’ options on kick returns. That, of course, is surely just an oversight considering Farooq’s injury status. Billy Bowman Jr. is the only player who has returned a kick through the first two games and remains Oklahoma’s top option in that role.
