Patrick Beverley has weighed in on Julius Randle’s situation with the New York Knicks, expressing a desire to see Randle join the Sacramento Kings. On ‘The PatBev Podcast,’ Beverley discussed Randle’s uncertain future with the Knicks, who have made several high-profile acquisitions over the past year, including Mikal Bridges and OG Anunoby.
Beverley remarked, “It’s tough when you sign a lot of players in his position. The writing’s on the wall. When the Clippers acquired James Harden, I knew Paul George would be next to go. In the Knicks’ case, they had significant success even when Randle was out, possibly the best they’ve had since he joined.”
Beverley then shared his preference, saying, “I’d like to see him with the Sacramento Kings. That would be exciting and a fresh change.”
Randle, who averaged 24.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, and 5.0 assists last season, struggled with shoulder injuries that kept him out for much of the second half of the season. As Beverley noted, the Knicks thrived without Randle, with OG Anunoby and Josh Hart stepping up as key contributors.
Given Randle’s offensive skillset and the Knicks’ need to balance touches among players like Jalen Brunson, Mikal Bridges, Anunoby, and Donte DiVincenzo, integrating Randle could be challenging. Despite this, Beverley believes a move to the Kings could reinvigorate Randle’s career and prove his worth as an All-NBA caliber forward.
