In 2020, Dennis Rodman appeared on ESPN’s *First Take* to promote his 30 for 30 documentary. Out of his usual element and speaking in his distinctive style, Rodman’s remarks came from an old interview, so it’s not new information. However, with the holiday approaching, I thought it was worth revisiting.
Rodman is often seen as a disappointment in San Antonio due to his problematic attitude and poor fit with the Spurs, but he remains one of the greatest rebounders in history.
As a key member of the Bad Boy Detroit Pistons, he was part of the team that helped establish the tough, gritty style that eventually toppled the Lakers and Celtics, forcing legendary players into retirement.
After his stint with the Spurs, Rodman found his niche with the exceptionally talented Chicago Bulls, who secured two three-peats in the 1990s.
Rodman, known for his provocative statements, commented:
“I wanted to win championships with these guys. I would go to war with these guys any time of the day. It’s just sad because we could have easily come back and won a fourth championship.
